Ten Hag’s Ambition: To Improve Manchester United’s Squad for Next Season

Despite being defeated by Manchester City in the FA Cup final, Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that his priority now is to improve the squad for the upcoming season. Manchester City emerged victorious with a 2-1 win, thanks to Ilkay Gundogan’s two goals, while Bruno Fernandes scored the sole goal for the losing team.

Ten Hag is not resting on his laurels as he has already set his sights on the future and is determined to raise the bar by focusing on team improvement and the recruitment of new players. He expressed this during a recent interview.

He said, “I have only one plan, and that is to improve this club and its team. I have my ideas, and I have already communicated with the club on what we need to do. But I have to work with my staff and the players to be better prepared for next season.”

Ten Hag did not mince his words as he affirmed that recruiting new players is one thing, but the more pressing issue is to work with the present squad and focus on their development, adding that, “It’s not about getting players in and seeing quick results. It’s about working tirelessly throughout the season and day by day to develop and progress the team. I’m proud of our achievements so far this season, but we can’t rest on that. We must push harder and be better.”

Ten Hag’s determination is palpable and despite United ending this season with a Carabao Cup trophy, the Dutchman is setting his sights on better performances and improved outcomes for the team in the future.
