The 9th Kwara State House of Assembly passed 29 bills, 58 motions, according to the Speaker, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.

He disclosed this on Wednesday at the valedictory plenary of the state lawmakers to mark the end of a republic.

The House was constituted on June 11, 2019, and bowed out on June 6, 2023.

The Speaker, who commended the members of the assembly for their various contributions, thanked his constituents, (Ilesha/Gwanara) for the opportunity given to him to represent them.

The Speaker said the legislature was able to consider 36 bills, 29 of which were people-oriented bills passed into law while seven were private members bills.

Danladi said 58 motions and 38 reports from various committees of the House were considered, with resolutions passed on them through effective use of public hearing and other necessary tools of legislation.

He also noted that the 9th Assembly was also instrumental in resolving many industrial crises through the zealousness of various committees of the Assembly.

Earlier, members of the House had recounted their legislative experiences in the last four years, thanking God for the journey so far.

Some members who could not control their emotions burst into tears, saying the journey was filled with ups and downs.

The incoming 10th legislature consists 8 returning and 16 new lawmakers, making a total of 24 members.
