Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard, has expressed his desire to stay at the club for an extended period.
However, during an exclusive interview with TV2, Odegaard clarified his position, stating: “It is not solely my decision, honestly.”
The Norwegian midfielder had an exceptional season with the Gunners, netting 15 goals and providing seven assists in the Premier League as they secured a respectable finish behind Manchester City.
Given his impressive performance, Odegaard has been the subject of transfer speculation, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in signing him this summer.
Nevertheless, the player remains eager to commit to a new contract with Arsenal.
Odegaard affirmed, “I am very content at Arsenal and I hope to continue here for an extended period. Let’s assess the contract situation post-summer.”
He added, “I haven’t had any discussions with Arsenal. It’s not solely up to me, honestly. There’s no rush as my contract still has a considerable duration.”
