Over 158 Companies Set to Participate in the Abuja AfriTrade Business Trade Show

Preparations are at an advanced stage for the highly anticipated AfriTrade business-to-business (B2B) trade show, organized by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). The event, scheduled to take place from July 13 to 14, 2023, has already attracted registrations from over 158 local and international companies.

The AfriTrade B2B trade show, which will be held at the prestigious Abuja Trade and Convention Centre, is widely expected to be the largest B2B trade event in the capital city this month. The participating companies span various sectors, with 47 companies in the agricultural industry, 39 in the building and construction sector, 10 in cosmetics, and 17 in textiles. Additionally, companies from other sectors, such as confectionery, healthcare, hospitality and tourism, transport, and education, have also registered for the event.

In line with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the AfriTrade B2B trade show aims to foster economic integration and enhance business relationships across the continent. The event is poised to attract both local and international companies, providing them with a platform to develop profitable trade partnerships in critical sectors of the African economy.

Ms. Cecile Doumbe, the Managing Director of CMD Tourism and Trade Enterprises, one of the partners organizing the event, emphasized the significance of the AfriTrade B2B trade show in promoting economic cooperation, trade, and investment within Africa. She stated, “We are establishing a match-making platform, including carefully selected African prospects and Nigerian economic operators identified through B2B meetings.”

Doumbe further revealed that the event aims to generate more than 900 matched profiles from over 200 Nigerian companies, as well as over 100 targeted African businesses from across the continent. The AfriTrade B2B conference in Abuja will offer diverse trade solutions, including technology transfer, business joint ventures, investment assets, distribution channels, trade partnerships, license agreements, and sales agreements.

The AfriTrade B2B trade show has received endorsement and support from various Nigerian government agencies involved in trade and commerce, such as the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, the Nigerian Export Promotion Company (NEPC), the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR). The National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has also expressed its support for the event.

With its wide range of participating companies and strategic objectives, the AfriTrade B2B trade show is set to be a major milestone for business networking and partnerships in Africa. It presents a unique opportunity for companies to explore trade opportunities, forge valuable connections, and contribute to the economic growth and development of the continent.
