Manchester City’s midfield maestro, Jack Grealish, has divulged that manager Pep Guardiola has enforced a ban on boozy celebrations following their triumph in the UEFA Super Cup held in Athens.
Grealish and his teammates indulged in revelries in Ibiza immediately after clinching the Champions League title in June.
The English international continued to partake in festive activities throughout the summer break prior to the commencement of the new campaign.
However, with City set to face Newcastle in the upcoming Premier League encounter on Saturday, Guardiola has issued a cautionary directive to his squad, urging them to temper their jubilations.
“Nah, he’s put a ban on that,” revealed Grealish during an interview with TNT Sports following City’s 5-4 penalty shootout victory against Sevilla, following a 1-1 draw in Athens.
“Listen, tonight, we’ll return home, relish in some delectable cuisine, and unwind. We have another match in… what day is it? Three days. It’s important to focus on recovery and then swiftly shift our attention back to the Premier League.”
