A Shari’a Court in Kano has ordered the detention of Suleiman Shu’aibu, a 46-year-old man, in a Correctional Center, following allegations of physically assaulting his former wife and subjecting her to defamation by calling her a prostitute.
Residing in Rumawa Quarters Kano, Shu’aibu has been charged with criminal force and defamation of character.
The presiding judge, Nura Yusuf-Ahmad, directed that the defendant be held in the Correctional Center and scheduled the next hearing for September 7.
