Kwara State Governor Approves N184m Refund For 2,300 Pilgrims

The Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq has approved the release of N184m to cater for the refund of 2,300 Pilgrims that paid the sum of N3m as Hajj fare for the just concluded Hajj exercise.

With this approval, the State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Ilorin has commenced the immediate payment of the money.

The refund is the excess payment made by the pilgrims from the state who performed this year’s Hajj from the state.

The beneficiaries cut across the 16 Local government areas of the state including Kwarans and Non-Kwarans.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir thanked the State Government for the timely release of the fund which was excess money paid by the affected pilgrims.

In a statement by it’s Public Relations Officer, Hajia Falilat Jimoh however, appealed to all the concerned pilgrims to ‘come to the Board Office with their original receipts for the collection of their N80,000 refund.’

The statement further said that “the exercise which commenced on Monday, would continue until all the affected pilgrims were duly refunded.”
