Nigerian airlines can fly to UK, Europe – NCAA

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, says domestic airlines can now fly to the United Kingdom and Europe.

Director-General of Nigeria Civil Aviation, Capt. Musa Nuhu disclosed recently at the sidelines of the just concluded 7th Aviation African Summit and Exhibition in Abuja.

He said after Third Country Operator certificates for Air Peace, Omni Blu, and United Nigeria Airlines (UNA), domestic airlines designated to the UK or some EU nations can apply to operate without much hassle.

“The few airlines that have come to us and asked for help, we resolved the issue within a couple of hours; sometimes it just takes a phone call from the DG to his counterpart DG to get that done.

“We have fought with some European countries, and we have got a TCO (Third Country Operator) certificate for our airlines to operate in these countries”, he said.

Media Talk Africa recalls that in July, Air Peace Chairman, Mr Allen Onyema, expressed concerns over the denial of his airline from flying to London.
