Minister Urges NIPR Officials to Embrace Tinubu’s 8-Point Agenda

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called on the newly elected officials of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to fully support and embrace President Bola Tinubu’s 8-point agenda. He highlighted the importance of their role in improving Nigeria’s image.

In a courtesy visit to his office, the minister, who is also a fellow of the Institute, assured the board of his unwavering support and expressed the willingness of the ministry to collaborate with reputable institutions and stakeholders in repositioning the country and reorienting its citizens.

“The ministry is eager to engage with the NIPR in this regard,” he stated.

Furthermore, he commended the board’s plan to promote sectoral specialization among its members which would enhance professionalism and strengthen the institution.

“The NIPR has been operating as a unifocal profession, and I think that has created a problem; we need to decentralize our profession,” the minister added.

The minister expressed his gratitude to the NIPR members for their visit and promised to inaugurate the board soon, facilitating the smooth and effective implementation of planned activities.

On his part, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, stated that the council members paid the courtesy visit to inform the minister of their planned programmes and activities, and to express their readiness to collaborate with the ministry in nation-building.

The NIPR’s proposed national campaign for the rebirth of Nigeria will focus on three key areas: citizen education and value reorientation, promoting locally made goods, and improving service delivery excellence. The council expressed their intention to work closely with the ministry in implementing this campaign.
