Nigerian Minister Kennedy-Ohanenye Threatens Legal Action Against United Nations

The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has declared her intention to sue the United Nations (UN) for alleged financial mismanagement. Speaking at a press conference held in Abuja on Monday, Kennedy-Ohanenye accused the UN of receiving funds from donors on behalf of Nigerians without proper accountability.

“As the Minister of Women Affairs, I stand here to demand that the UN provide a detailed account of all the funds they have received in Nigeria’s name. It is imperative that we see how this money has been utilized. If the UN fails to provide this information, then they should, at the very least, offer a public apology to the Nigerian people. If we do not receive this report by November 15, legal action will be pursued,” she stated.
