The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has issued an explanation and an apology to passengers regarding the delays experienced on the Abuja-Kaduna train route on Monday. Mr. Pascal Nnorli, the Manager of the Abuja-Kaduna Train Service, provided a statement to newsmen in Abuja, clarifying that the delays were caused by a shortage in the supply of diesel.

Nnorli expressed the NRC’s sincere apologies to customers who may have faced disruptions in service on January 23. He explained that the delay was due to the diesel supply, which did not meet the necessary specifications required for the operation of the trains. The substandard fuel was rejected following a mandatory laboratory test, which is conducted on all liquids used in the rolling stock, including locomotives, to ensure compliance with the required standards.

In closing, Nnorli thanked passengers for their continued support and reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to improving services in the future.
