In a statement released by the registrar of CUSTECH, Olufunke Hudson, it was revealed that the newly approved undergraduate programmes include Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Mathematics Education, Physics Education, Computer Science Education, Geography Education, Library and Information Science, and Technology Education, among others.

These programmes will be housed in a dedicated academic unit within the Faculty of Science and Technology Education, equipped with the necessary resources, human expertise, and materials to train professional teachers.

According to Hudson, “The establishment of these programmes is vital in light of the State Government’s commitment to enhancing the quality and accessibility of education at all levels in the state, especially with the recent establishment of additional tertiary and technical educational institutions.”

She added, “Secondary and Technical institutions play a crucial role in supplying the fundamental inputs into tertiary institutions. As tertiary education continues to expand, the demand for high-quality inputs from these institutions has increased. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen the quality of secondary and technical education to enable them to fulfill their expected role in the education sector.”

Furthermore, she emphasized that all the University’s programmes are accessible on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) platform for interested candidates to select.
