Tinubu Appoints Mohammed Isa as Special Assistant on Disability Matters

President Bola Tinubu has given his nod for the appointment of Mohammed Abba Isa as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters

Mohammed Isa, as disclosed in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, is a distinguished advocate for persons with disabilities. With over a decade of experience, he has been actively involved in local and international advocacy on issues pertaining to persons with disabilities.

The statement further highlighted that the new presidential aide is a graduate of Public Administration with honours from the University of Maiduguri. Furthermore, in 2017, he obtained a Masters in Public Administration from the same institution.

According to the statement, the President has charged the new appointee with the proactive task of creating opportunities for inclusion by integrating the requirements and perspectives of persons with disabilities into the policies and programs of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government.

In addition, he has been given the mandate to work closely with sub-national authorities to foster a national consensus on disability-friendly policies and environmental conditions, in collaboration with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
