NIMASA’s Plan for Blue Economy Information Desks at Ports of Entry

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced significant strides in its efforts to establish Blue Economy information desks at the entry ports of Nigeria.

Bashir Jamoh, the Director-General of NIMASA, took to social media platform X to share the news, revealing that the project has garnered approval from the Ministry of Aviation.

Jamoh stated, β€œOur endeavor to set up Blue Economy information desks at all international airports in the country, under the oversight of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, received a significant boost following a productive discussion with the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN.”

He emphasized that the Blue Economy Information desk is poised to capitalize on the potential of the maritime sector. According to Jamoh, β€œThe Blue Economy desk at the Ports will enhance inter-ministerial collaboration to harness the potential in our Maritime sector by creating awareness of a functional intermodal transport system and tourism, among other critical components of a growing maritime nation.”
