Troops Eliminate Two Bandits, Seize Weapons in Kaduna Operation

In a recent clearance operation in the Juji and Telele-Kaso area of Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State, the combined troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch successfully neutralised two bandits. Lt Col Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for 1 Division Nigerian Army, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Reportedly, the bandits engaged the approaching troops in a confrontation but were swiftly subdued by the superior firepower of the troops. Consequently, two bandits were neutralised, while others fled in disarray.

The troops made a significant recovery, including an AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 rifle magazines, and a quantity of five 7.62mm (special) ammunition. Additionally, two locally made hand grenades, four handsets, two motorcycles, spanners, screwdrivers, and two bags were confiscated.

Maj. Gen. Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, urged the general public to continue providing credible information to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies. This support is vital in bolstering the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities within the division’s area of responsibility.
