Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board Vows to Prioritize Teachers’ Welfare and Revamp the Education Sector

The newly-appointed Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Prof Nasir Garba Anka, has vowed to elevate basic education and enhance teachers’ welfare in the state.

Addressing the gathering at a reception organized by the board’s management and staff in the state capital, Gusau, Anka emphasized that staff welfare is a top priority as it serves as a crucial motivator for effective work. Without proper welfare and adequate remuneration, the teaching and learning process might face challenges, he stated.

“I’m a classroom teacher. It, therefore, pains me whenever I see teachers in bad conditions. I must work assiduously to ensure their welfare,” declared Anka.

He called on the management and staff of the board to unite with him in achieving the set objectives for revamping the educational sector of the state.

“My administration at the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board will ensure inclusiveness for better results,” he added. “Governor Dauda Lawal has already declared a state of emergency on education and assured to contribute massively for the betterment of the educational sector in the state.”
