The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has reaffirmed the organization’s unwavering commitment to combatting gender-based violence in its operations.
Major General Ibrahim Ali, the Force Commander of MNJTF, declared the organization’s resolute stance during the commencement of a workshop focused on sexual abuse and gender-based violence in conflict environments on November 20, 2023, in Nā€™djamena, Chad.
According to the Chief of Military Public Information of MNJTF, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the workshop aimed to broaden participants’ comprehension of the intricacies of sexual exploitation and gender-based violence within operational contexts.
General Ali underscored MNJTF’s pivotal role in rescuing numerous women and girls from terrorist captivity in recent years, highlighting the force’s steadfast dedication to upholding human rights and fortifying the protection of vulnerable demographics.
Expressing appreciation to the African Union Mission Support Team for orchestrating the training, General Ali acknowledged the paramount significance of addressing and preventing gender-based violence within the operational framework.
MNJTF’s unequivocal stance against gender-based violence during operations serves as a testament to its unwavering commitment to fostering a secure and safe environment for all individuals impacted by conflict and instability.
