Zamfara NUJ Vows Ongoing Support for NYSC as Partnership Strengthens

The Zamfara State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has reassured its unwavering commitment to bolstering the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in achieving its set objectives.

During a courtesy visit by the NYSC Editorial and Publicity CDS group to the state capital, Gusau, the council’s chairman, Ibrahim Musa Maizare, affirmed the union’s support. He lauded the NYSC’s role in fostering national unity and integration, hailing the historic significance of the visit as the first formal interaction between the two entities.

Maizare emphasised the media’s core objectives of informing, educating, and entertaining the public, affirming the council’s readiness to collaborate with entities interested in the state’s development.

Additionally, Maizare urged the corps members to embrace the union as young journalists, encouraging them to consider the NUJ secretariat as their professional home.

Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, the zonal secretary, urged the corps members to embody the values of good ambassadors, respecting local norms and traditions while striving to leave a positive imprint in their host communities.

Akonte Samuel, the leader of the NYSC delegation, underlined the visit’s significance in the NYSC’s renewed efforts to fortify partnerships with media executives and stakeholders in the state. Samuel also revealed plans to launch a weekly radio programme on Gamji FM to enhance the visibility of NYSC activities in the state.

The NUJ’s reiterated commitment and the collaborative efforts with the NYSC are poised to reinforce the organizations’ shared objectives, fostering a beneficial partnership for the state’s development.
