The Gombe State Executive Council has given the green light to a three-year Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for submission to the State House of Assembly.

The council’s approval sets the stage for further legislative debate and endorsement by the state legislature on this crucial financial plan.

This document is anticipated to chart a strategic roadmap for Gombe State’s financial trajectory over the next three years.

Gombe State Strategic Plan

Speaking to the press after the meeting, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Salihu Baba Alkali, elucidated that the framework delineates the state’s projected income and expenditure within the broader context of the macroeconomic landscape.

He highlighted the comprehensive preparation of the MTEF, which encompasses multifaceted assumptions derived from international, national, regional, and state-level economic dynamics.

According to him, these assumptions were intricately crafted based on a comprehensive assessment of revenue and expenditure parameters.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Mr. Mijinyawa Tilde, who coordinated the briefing, emphasized that the endorsement of the three-year MTEF underscores the state government’s dedication to prudent financial planning and responsible fiscal management.

He stressed that these efforts are aimed at ensuring effective allocation of resources for developmental initiatives and sustainable growth.
