NLTF’s Capital Allocation Directed Towards Intervention Projects, CPTA Reports

The Center for Peace, Transparency, and Accountability (CPTA) has revealed that the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) allocates a significant portion of its capital funds to construction and intervention projects.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, the Executive Director of CPTA, Patrick Ogheneyero, dismissed allegations of fund misappropriation by the NLTF.

Recently, the House of Representatives Committee on Finance accused the NLTF of inadequately justifying its use of internally generated revenue in 2022, stating that the agency spent the funds without proper budgetary approval.

Contrary to the accusations, the CPTA firmly stated that there is no concrete evidence to support claims of misappropriation by the NLTF in the execution of its mandated responsibilities.

Furthermore, the CPTA emphasized that the NLTF’s activities align with the legislation that founded the agency, serving as both overseer and revenue generator within the Nigerian gaming industry.
