Renowned culinary expert, Hilda Baci, has waded into the age-old Ghanaian jollof versus Nigerian jollof discourse, asserting that Nigerian jollof reigns supreme due to its exquisite flavour profile. During a candid discussion on the latest installment of the 90s Baby Show, Baci championed Nigerian jollof, declaring, “Nigerian jollof is actually better than Ghanaian jollof. I’ve been to Ghana and sampled their jollof. I even engaged in a jollof cook-off with a Ghanaian chef who prepared the quintessential Ghanaian jollof, and I have carefully examined the recipes. However, when it comes to Nigerian jollof, Nigerians spare no effort in infusing it with rich and robust flavours.” It is worth noting that Hilda Baci clinched victory in the highly acclaimed Jollof Face-off Competition in 2021 by outshining Ghana’s Leslie Kumordzie. As a testament to her culinary prowess, she was awarded a prize of $5,000 for her culinary mastery.
