FCT Fire Service Collaborates with Security Forces to Protect Personnel from Attacks

The Federal Capital Territory Fire Service (FCT-Fire) has announced its partnership with the police and other security agencies to prevent attacks on its personnel during emergency responses.

According to the spokesman of the service, Ibrahim Tauheed, they are also taking steps to engage communities and increase awareness about the significance of their work.

Tauheed stated, “To deter interference with our firefighting operations, we are considering intensifying community engagements through outreach programmes to emphasize the importance of our work.”

He added, “Working in collaboration with local authorities and community leaders, such as district heads and chiefs, will significantly address this unfortunate trend.”

The spokesman emphasized that they will maintain close cooperation with law enforcement agencies to provide backup during emergencies, aiming to discourage hoodlums from attacking fire service personnel and looting properties.

Referring to the recent Samsung warehouse fire incident, Tauheed highlighted the attacks on their personnel by a large number of hoodlums, leading to disruptions in their operations. He stressed that the partnership with security agencies and community leaders will create a safer environment for their personnel to carry out their duties effectively.

This collaboration signifies a vital step towards safeguarding the dedicated firefighters who play a crucial role in ensuring public safety.
