Nigerian Army Chief of Staff Commences Inter-Division Combat Platoon Orienteering

The Nigerian Army, in its commitment to ensuring constant preparedness of its officers and men, has commenced the Inter-Division Combat Platoon Orienteering and Adventure Competition in Jos. The exercise was officially flagged off by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.

Lieutenant General Lagbaja emphasized that the primary objective of the exercise is to bolster the overall security framework of the nation. This event holds strategic importance as it aligns with the vision of the Nigerian Army in preparing its personnel for any potential challenges.

Representing Lieutenant General Lagbaja, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division, articulated the purpose of the competition, stating, “The vision for this competition is to maintain an enduring dedication and resilience aimed at building on the tremendous achievements the Army has acquired over the years.”

He added, “I want to ensure that troops are well grounded in professionalism, engineering, sound administration, and cooperation. This can only make sense when driven by innovative training.”

Participating divisions include troops from the Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja, as well as 1 Division (Kaduna), 2 Division (Ibadan), 3 Division (Jos), 81 Division (Lagos), 82 Division (Enugu), and 6 Division (Port Harcourt).
