Education Cannot Thrive Without Security, Asserts Katsina Governor Radda

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, emphasized the indispensable connection between education and security during the 7th and 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony of Federal University Dutsinma. He unequivocally stated, “There cannot be any meaningful education without security.” The governor expressed deep concerns over the impact of banditry on schools, resulting in disruptions and closures that hinder students’ learning opportunities.

In response to these challenges, Governor Radda highlighted strategic measures implemented by his administration to bolster security in schools. He underscored the establishment of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of educational institutions across the state.

Governor Radda stated, “There is no education without security. Many of our frontline local governments have had their schools closed due to banditry, and in some cases, schools have become a den for bandits.” He further outlined the importance of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps in combating insecurity and creating a conducive environment for the youth to thrive and learn. He emphasized that the government’s actions are focused on laying the foundation for a brighter future for the people of Katsina.

Addressing the pressing issue of out-of-school children, Governor Radda detailed plans to reintegrate them into formal education. This involves collaborative efforts with partners and religious institutions to provide essential academic tools and promote inclusivity within the educational system. Governor Radda’s commitment to fostering a safe and conducive learning environment underscores the pivotal role of security in enabling educational advancement.
