Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has announced the prosecution of individuals holding Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Identity Cards that have been invalidated, effective December 2022. He has directed that anyone found using these invalidated PCRC ID cards should be arrested and prosecuted.

CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, issued a statement on Saturday emphasizing that this initiative aligns with the IGP’s commitment to sanitizing and standardizing all sectors, including the PCRC. In addition to the prosecution directive, the IGP has ordered the redesign and re-issuance of new PCRC ID cards from the Force Headquarters in Abuja. This process will involve a thorough screening of membership across all levels.

Adejobi further stated, “The Inspector-General of Police hereby directs all eligible members of PCRC nationwide to contact the offices of the various Zonal, Command, and Formations PCRC Chairmen, as well as the Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) of their respective Zones, Commands, and Formations to obtain new forms for processing the newly approved ID Card.”
