President Tinubu Promises Relief for Nigerians this Christmas

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed a message of reassurance to all Nigerians, expressing confidence that his administration’s policies will provide much-needed relief. Speaking at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Central Mosque in Surulere, Lagos, while on a brief Christmas holiday in Lagos State, Tinubu emphasized that the economic reforms initiated by his government aim to establish a secure foundation for current and future generations.

Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Friday, highlighted Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare of all citizens. Tinubu’s recent actions include a 50% reduction in inter-state land transportation fares nationwide and the payment of N-Power beneficiaries’ backlog of allowances. These efforts are specifically targeted at alleviating the burden on Nigerians during the festive season, with further support anticipated in the upcoming year.

The President expressed, “We are dedicated to building a better society for our citizens, irrespective of their ethnic, religious, or geographical backgrounds. The policies already in place are expected to provide significant relief to our people. We understand their hardships, and we are taking a comprehensive approach to address them.”

In line with these commitments, the Nigerian government announced a 50% transportation fare reduction for designated routes to coincide with the Yuletide celebration. This step comes as the government outlined its achievements in 2023 on Thursday.
