Zamfara State Government Allocates N7.2bn to Finalize Gusau Investment House

The Zamfara State Government has unveiled plans to allocate N7.2 billion towards the completion of the Gusau Investment House project. Abdurrahman Tumbido, the State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, revealed this during his address to the press in Gusau, following the defense of the ministry’s 2024 appropriation at the State House of Assembly.

Governor Dauda Lawal presented a N423.5 billion Appropriation Bill for the 2024 fiscal year to the assembly, signifying the government’s commitment to driving development and economic growth in the state.

The 10-storey building of the investment house project was initiated during the tenure of former Governor Mahmud Shinkafi and remains unfinished. Under the 2024 appropriation, the project is set to be spearheaded by Governor Lawal, with an additional N17 billion earmarked for various development projects under the ministry.

Key projects outlined in the budget include the completion of the Gusau Hotel project, reconstruction of Gusau Old Market, and modernization of Gusau Central Market, all aimed at bolstering economic activities and Internally Generated Revenue in the state.

Commissioner Tumbido emphasized the current administration’s dedication to finalizing the investment house project, highlighting its pivotal role in enhancing the state’s economy. He also noted that extensive consultations with lawmakers have culminated in a commitment to allocate resources for the project’s completion.

These strategic initiatives underscore Zamfara’s proactive pursuit of economic advancement and robust commercial activities to elevate the state’s overall prosperity.
