Senator Reflecting on 2023

The year 2023 was tumultuous, according to Senator Neda Imasuen, who represents Edo South. In his New Year message, he acknowledged that the past year had posed significant challenges, including economic hardship and insecurity, putting a strain on the resilience of Nigerians.

Despite the adversities, Senator Imasuen expressed admiration for the unwavering resolve demonstrated by his constituents and the nation as a whole. He emphasized the collective need to alleviate the hardships faced by the people and pledged to actively work towards bringing relief to Edo State and Nigeria.

Senator Imasuen attested, “Navigating the year, which had its fair share of economic hardship, insecurity, and other vices, took sheer resilience and the grace of God. I feel your pains, and I promise to do all within my human and legislative powers to bring you succour in the new year.”

Looking ahead, the senator outlined his commitment to introducing and supporting legislative measures and policies aimed at enhancing the lives of the people and restoring prosperity to his constituency and the nation. He acknowledged the inherent challenges, particularly as a member of a minority party, but maintained his determination to ensure that the populace reaps the dividends of democracy.

Recognizing the collective effort required in achieving these goals, he urged the active involvement of all citizens, emphasizing the strength found in unity. As he aptly stated, “The journey will be rough, but we must persevere so that there will be ‘light at the end of our tunnel.’ Let us walk and work together as there is strength in numbers.”

As the world welcomes 2024, Senator Imasuen’s message serves as a call to action, resonating with the global community’s shared aspirations for a brighter and more prosperous future.
