Arsene Wenger’s True Mastery: Toure Unveils Manager’s Remarkable Skill

Former Arsenal defender Kolo Toure has opened up about the exceptional skill of his former manager, Arsene Wenger. According to Toure, Wenger’s unparalleled ability to instill confidence in his players was what set him apart.

Toure emphasized that Wenger never resorted to blaming his players for any on-field mistakes. Instead, the Frenchman maintained unwavering positivity and provided unyielding support to his team. “Arsene knew exactly how to give everyone confidence—for me, that was his greatest skill,” Toure expressed in an interview with Arsenal’s official website.

Reflecting on Wenger’s demeanor, Toure added, “He would not talk to you a lot, but he would never blame you for any mistake—everything was 100 per cent positive and supportive. Very rarely did you get negative feedback from him. I can’t remember getting that at all, actually.”

Toure, who joined Arsenal from Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosa in February 2002, debuted at the start of the 2002–2023 campaign. Throughout the season, he showcased his versatility by playing in various positions, illustrating the multifaceted talent cultivated under Wenger’s managerial guidance.
