In less than 50 hours after the immediate-past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, left office, posters with his picture and the logo of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) have been sighted in some strategic parts of Abuja, seeking the party’s national chairmanship.

The posters were sighted around the Federal Secretariat and on walls and fences of structures around the APC national secretariat, Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The posters carried the inscription: “APC Next Level. Alhaji Yahaya Bello as APC National Chairman. Leading the Change, Building a Stronger APC.”

The posters indicated that Bello was contesting for the position of the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman.

A former governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is currently the occupant of the office of the APC National Chairman.

Ganduje was elected at the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the APC on August 3, 2023, to replace Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned from office.

It could be recalled that Yahaya Bello had also made an attempt at the presidential ticket of the APC but stepped aside for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the last presidential election. He had alluded to being under pressure from people of “All walks of life, to run for the highest office in the land.”
