Call to Action for Nigerian Muslims: Uphold National Prosperity

The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has issued a call to Nigerian Muslims, urging them to take significant steps to safeguard the success of the Nigerian nation. In a statement, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the Executive Director of MURIC, emphasized the importance of actively contributing to the country’s advancement and abstaining from engaging in any form of economic disruption.

With the approaching Ramadan season in 2024 coinciding with a challenging economic period characterized by currency devaluation and soaring prices, Prof. Akintola emphasized the critical role of Muslims in steering the nation towards stability. He underscored that the upcoming Ramadan presents an opportune moment for Muslims to play a pivotal role in restoring the nation to calmer waters amidst turbulent economic conditions.

The statement highlighted the responsibilities of “good Muslims” as guardians of national progress, discouraging participation in activities that could jeopardize the nation’s stability, particularly abstaining from violent demonstrations and economic sabotage. Prof. Akintola stressed that in light of the significant Muslim support during the election, the Muslim populace must strive to be pioneers in the nation’s reconstruction efforts, rather than contribute to its downfall.

The message serves as a compelling call to action, urging Nigerian Muslims to embrace their responsibility in fortifying the nation’s resilience and contributing to its restoration.
