Tribunal Panel Formed for 2024 Rerun Elections in Sokoto and Zamfara

The tribunal panel for the recently held rerun elections for the Sokoto and Zamfara Houses of Assembly in 2024 has been established. The President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem, personally signed and dated a circular on February 2, 2024, addressing the Chief Judge of High Court of Justice, Sokoto State, to disclose this development.

The circular noted that the constitution of the appeal tribunal was in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and the Electoral Act of 2022. It also emphasized the importance of compliance with relevant constitutional and legal provisions.

Additionally, the circular appealed to the Chief Judge of High Court of Justice, Sokoto State, to provide court halls for the panel members in both states and office accommodation for the staff of the panel. This is a crucial step in ensuring the efficient and smooth functioning of the tribunal panel in addressing matters related to the rerun elections in Sokoto and Zamfara.
