4 Nigerians who died while watching the Super Eagles’ AFCON match yesterday

As Nigerians celebrate the victory of the national team, the Super Eagles, over South Africa’s national team, Bafana Bafana, for the ticket to the final of the 2023 continental football tournament, AFCON, at least four families are mourning the deaths of their loved ones who died while watching the tension-packed match.

They were confirmed dead due to cardiac arrest while watching the Super Eagles AFCON 2023 Semi-final match against South Africa yesterday.

The deaths of all the deceased have similarities since all reportedly slumped when the Super Eagles after playing the full time and extra time of 30 minutes, engaged in a penalty shootout.

The names of the four deceased are shared below.

1. A former federal lawmaker in Delta State, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh

2. Kwara State University Deputy Bursar, Alhaji Ayuba Abdullahi

3. A member of the National Youth Service Corps serving in Adamawa State identified as Samuel

4. High chief Osundu Nwoye from Anambra, a business mogul in Abidjan also died on the Ivory Coast while watching the match yesterday.
