Former Sokoto Governor Faces Investigation Panel Over Alleged Corruption

Aminu Tambuwal, the former Governor of Sokoto State and current Senator, appeared before the state’s Judicial Commission of Inquiry to address allegations of corrupt practices during his tenure. The inquiry, initiated by the current governor, Ahmed Aliyu, aims to investigate land allocations and government asset sales under Tambuwal’s administration.

Accompanied by his aides, Tambuwal was unable to testify and was asked to return on a later date. In response, Tambuwal confirmed his appearance on social media, expressing his commitment to upholding the rule of law and the constitution of Nigeria.

The investigation reflects the ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and transparency in public service, setting an example for the younger generation and underscoring the principles of democracy.
