Atiku Abubakar Urges Unity Among Edo PDP Aspirants to Support Ighodalo

Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has called on disgruntled governorship aspirants in Edo State to set aside their differences and throw their support behind the party’s chosen candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

The plea comes in the midst of threats from Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, to take legal action against the emergence of Ighodalo as the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in the state.

Atiku emphasized the importance of electing a qualified technocrat like Ighodalo to lead Edo State, highlighting the party’s commitment to ensuring that the next governor is the right fit for the job.

In a post on X, Atiku commended the PDP leadership and members in Edo State for conducting a successful primary election that resulted in the selection of a strong candidate to represent the party in the upcoming election.

“The party has made its decision, and it is clear that the choice is a good one. I urge all other aspirants and stakeholders with grievances to come together and work towards keeping Edo a PDP state,” Atiku stated.

He praised Dr. Asue Ighodalo as not only a brilliant technocrat but also a gentleman who will lead Edo State with stability and integrity.

It is crucial for the party to unite and support its candidate to ensure a successful outcome in the upcoming election.

By fostering unity and collaboration within the party, the PDP can strengthen its position in Edo State and work towards a brighter future for its residents.
