Nigeria’s Faith Usoro Shines at African Games 2023 with Gold in Triple Jump

Nigeria’s Faith Usoro has made history by winning a gold medal in the women’s triple jump at the prestigious African Games 2023 held in Accra, Ghana. With a remarkable jump of 13.80m, Usoro secured her first-ever African title, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Not stopping there, Usoro will also be competing in the women’s long jump event, aiming to continue her winning streak and make her country proud on the international stage.

Meanwhile, in the shot put event, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi displayed his dominance by successfully defending his title and clinching the gold medal with an impressive throw of 21.06m, solidifying his reputation as a top athlete in the field.

In the highly competitive men’s 100m race, Usheoritse Itsekiri sprinted his way to a silver medal, crossing the finish line in a swift time of 10.23s, showcasing his speed and agility on the track.

Adding to Nigeria’s medal tally, Olayinka Olajide secured the bronze medal in the women’s 100m event, further highlighting the country’s strong presence in sprinting events.

The Nigerian team also shone in the mixed 4x400m relay, with the quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Patience Okon-George, Sikiru Adeyemi, and Omolara Ogunmakinju working together seamlessly to claim the gold medal, demonstrating their teamwork and determination to succeed.
