President Tinubu Vows Justice for Slain Soldiers, Defends Budget Integrity

President Bola Tinubu reassured the 10th Senate of the integrity of the National Assembly amidst allegations of budget padding. In a dinner hosted for the Senate leadership to break the Ramadan fast, Tinubu emphasized the importance of cooperation between the executive and judiciary for national progress.

Addressing claims made by Senator Abdul Ningi regarding a discrepancy in the budget implementation, Tinubu defended the arithmetic of the budget he presented and commended the Senate for their swift handling of the budget process. He expressed confidence in overcoming economic challenges and improving revenue, urging better financial management for a brighter future.

Tinubu also condemned the killing of soldiers in Delta State, promising justice for the perpetrators and affirming unwavering support for the military in safeguarding national security. He emphasized the need to protect the integrity of the armed forces and uphold sovereignty, pledging to eradicate poverty from the nation.

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, expressed gratitude for the dinner and highlighted the importance of ongoing collaboration for effective governance. With a shared commitment to the success of the administration, Akpabio emphasized the necessity of working together for the benefit of the country.

In a statement released by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s message resonated with a call for unity, progress, and justice in the face of challenges.
