Osun APC Chairman Slams Adelekes Contract Probe as Diversionary

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Tajudeen Lawal, has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent actions to investigate contracts awarded by his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola. Lawal believes that this move is merely a tactic to divert attention from Adeleke’s alleged mismanagement of state resources.

In a statement released by the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, Lawal expressed skepticism towards the government’s decision to establish an implementation panel to review government contracts. He pointed out the irony of an administration that awarded contracts without due process now suddenly showing interest in scrutinizing past contracts.

Lawal raised suspicions about the timing of Adeleke’s actions, noting that it coincided with the APC’s accusations of nepotism in the awarding of contracts to the governor’s relatives. He cautioned Adeleke against using probes as a means to target political opponents, emphasizing that the people of Osun State are becoming more discerning and can see through such tactics.

Describing Adeleke’s probe as a diversionary tactic, Lawal also suggested that the governor’s motives may be influenced by personal political ambitions. He warned that Adeleke’s attempts to undermine his predecessor could backfire, especially as the former governor’s political influence continues to grow.

Overall, Lawal’s remarks highlight the political tensions in Osun State and the ongoing power struggles within the ruling party. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Adeleke’s probe will impact the political landscape and whether it will succeed in achieving its intended objectives.
