Kano Pillars broke their four-game winless streak with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Sporting Lagos at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday. Mustapha Umar scored the winning goal for Abdullahi Maikaba’s side just three minutes after the break, propelling the Sai Masu Gida to seventh position in the table.

Meanwhile, in the Gombe derby, Doma United managed to hold Gombe United to a 1-1 draw at the Pantami Township Stadium. Gombe United took the lead through David Nnaji in the 12th minute, but Musa Usman equalized for Doma United four minutes after the hour mark.
