Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino recently shared that 21-year-old Cole Palmer was left disappointed after not getting much playing time in England’s recent friendlies against Brazil and Belgium. Despite his stellar performance in the Premier League this season, with 11 goals and eight assists, Palmer was sidelined in the first game due to a minor injury and remained on the bench for the second match.
Pochettino, however, remains optimistic about Palmer’s readiness to face Burnley in the upcoming Premier League fixture. “I was talking with him, and yes, he is a little bit disappointed because he could not play with the national team,” Pochettino stated during a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Burnley. “I think the first game he had a small problem, and he thought he could play in the second game against Belgium, but unfortunately, he didn’t get the chance.”
The Chelsea manager reassured fans that Palmer is back on track and training well. “Now he is okay, he is training well. Still one more training session tomorrow [Friday], but I think the plan is if he continues to progress in the same way, he will be available for the game on Saturday [against Burnley].”
