APC Women Leader Slams Kaduna Governor Uba Sani for Disloyalty

In a recent development in Kaduna State, a prominent women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajia Maryam Suleiman, has made headlines for her scathing criticism of Governor Uba Sani. Suleiman, also known as Mai Rusau, was suspended from her position as the APC Women Leader in Badarawa/Mailali Ward following her remarks.

In a viral video, Suleiman recounted how Governor Nasir El-Rufai had tirelessly lobbied party leaders in Abuja to ensure that Uba Sani was elected as the representative of Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly. She highlighted El-Rufai’s efforts to remove former Senator Shehu Sani in favor of Uba Sani, whom he deemed loyal at the time.

However, Suleiman’s outspoken criticism of Governor Uba Sani led to her suspension from the party. The suspension letter, dated March 31, 2024, cited her alleged gross misconduct and defamation of the governor’s character as reasons for her removal.

Meanwhile, former Senator Shehu Sani, who was blocked from returning to the Senate by Governor El-Rufai, shed light on the situation. He revealed that El-Rufai had prevented him from accessing a $350 million World Bank loan during his tenure as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts. Shehu Sani defended his actions, stating that he had blocked the loan in the interest of the people of Kaduna State, as the state’s debt exceeded its revenue at the time.

The political turmoil in Kaduna State continues to unfold, with tensions running high between key party members. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
