Governor Sim Fubara Claps Back at Nyesom Wike Over Thanksgiving Crowd Accusations

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has hit back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for accusing him of renting crowds for thanksgiving. In a fiery response, Fubara expressed his disappointment in Wike, who had previously supported him in his bid for governorship.

During a gathering of supporters, Wike criticized Fubara for what he perceived as deceitful behavior, claiming that he had been misled into backing Fubara’s candidacy. The ongoing feud between the two political figures shows no signs of abating, despite efforts to reconcile their differences by President Bola Tinubu.

In a show of defiance, Governor Fubara addressed a crowd of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) members during a solidarity rally at the Government House in Port Harcourt. He emphasized the genuine support his administration has received from the people of the state, dismissing claims of crowd rental as baseless.

Refuting the allegations, Fubara pointed to the overwhelming turnout at the rally as evidence of the organic backing his government enjoys. He emphasized that the people were simply expressing gratitude for God’s blessings and the positive impact of his governance.

The rift between Governor Fubara and Minister Wike underscores the complex political landscape of Rivers State, with tensions running high between the two prominent figures. Despite attempts at reconciliation, the animosity between them continues to simmer, leaving the future of their relationship uncertain.
