Former Chairman of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Chief Patrick Ogbu, has officially announced his candidacy for the chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State. This declaration was made at his residence in Makurdi, the state capital, on Friday.
A longstanding member of the PDP since its inception, Chief Ogbu emphasized his unwavering commitment and passion for the party’s success. He expressed his readiness to utilize his energy and experience to bring about a transformation within the party.
In his statement, Chief Ogbu highlighted the need for strong and capable leadership to address the challenges and opportunities facing the party. He believes that his qualities, including his experience, expertise, and dedication, make him a suitable candidate to lead the party in Benue State.
“I offer myself as a capable candidate for the position of chairman,” Chief Ogbu stated. “I pledge to be a unifying force within our party, fostering cooperation and collaboration among members to achieve our shared goals.”
Support for Chief Ogbu’s candidacy has been voiced by prominent figures within the party, including former PDP governorship aspirant Julius Atorough, Chairman of Igumale Ward Hon. Godwin Onwue, and State Assistant Secretary Rose Ameh. Dr. Sebastian Agbinda, a former Special Adviser, also commended Chief Ogbu’s track record and leadership qualities.
