Stay Vigilant: DSS Urges Nigerians to Report Suspicious Activities During Eid-El-Fitr

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Nigeria is calling on all citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities during the upcoming Eid-El-Fitr celebration. This comes after the service previously warned about the dangers of Improvised Explosive Devices and advised people to stay informed and avoid crowded or suspicious areas.

In a recent statement, the Director of PR and Strategic Communications at DSS, Peter Afunanya, reassured Nigerians that the agency would be working closely with other security forces to ensure the safety of the public during the festive period. He emphasized the importance of being security conscious and encouraged everyone to report any unusual behavior to the authorities.

Afunanya also took the opportunity to congratulate Muslims in the country on the completion of Ramadan, a time of fasting, prayer, and reflection. He highlighted the values of love, mercy, and compassion that are central to the Eid-El-Fitr festival and urged people to embody these principles in their celebrations.

As the country marks this joyous occasion, the DSS is urging everyone to celebrate responsibly and promote unity, charity, and empathy. They emphasize the importance of upholding the spirit of goodwill and peaceful coexistence beyond the festivities and avoiding any actions that could undermine these core values.

By staying alert, reporting suspicious activities, and embodying the true essence of the Eid-El-Fitr festival, Nigerians can ensure a safe and harmonious celebration for all. Let’s come together in the spirit of unity and compassion as we mark this special occasion.
