Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has expressed the Nigerian government’s full support for Air Peace’s operations from Nigeria to London. Keyamo commended Gatwick Airport in London for welcoming Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading carrier, which began its flight service to the airport on March 30.
In a statement, Gatwick Airport announced the exciting news of Air Peace joining the London Gatwick family, offering daily flights to Lagos. The airport highlighted the convenience for travelers to reconnect with loved ones or for business purposes, encouraging passengers to embark on their next journey from London Gatwick to Lagos with Air Peace.
Keyamo, in response to Gatwick Airport’s message issued a week after Air Peace’s inaugural flight, acknowledged the belated welcome but accepted it graciously. Taking to social media, Keyamo emphasized the Federal Government’s unwavering support for local airlines, including Air Peace.
“Finally! Thank you, Gatwick Airport. We anticipated this welcome message on the first day of Air Peace’s arrival at your airport. Better late than never. We are eager to collaborate with you to ensure a seamless operation by Air Peace from your airport. The Nigerian government stands fully behind our local operators,” Keyamo stated.
With the government’s endorsement and Gatwick Airport’s warm reception, Air Peace’s expansion to London signifies a significant milestone for Nigerian aviation. The partnership between the airline, the government, and international airports like Gatwick paves the way for enhanced connectivity and travel opportunities between Nigeria and the UK.
