APM in Osun State Criticizes New Logo Design as Wasteful

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Osun State has strongly criticized the recent unveiling of a new state logo by the government, labeling it as a misuse of public funds. According to Wale Adebayo, the party’s chairman, the entire concept behind the logo project is flawed, likening it to trying to climb a tree from the top.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State recently signed a bill introducing the new logo, with his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stating that the move symbolizes a fresh start for the state. The bill, which was witnessed by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, replaced the previous state Anthem, Crest, and Flag Law 2012.

While Governor Adeleke hailed the new logo as a representation of Osun State’s history, values, and traditions, Adebayo and the APM remain unimpressed. They argue that the focus should be on providing tangible solutions to the challenges faced by the people, such as unemployment and inadequate infrastructure, rather than cosmetic changes like a new logo.

The APM emphasizes the importance of effective leadership that addresses the real needs of the citizens, highlighting the disconnect between government priorities and the everyday struggles of the people. They stress the need for policies and actions that genuinely improve the lives of the populace, rather than superficial initiatives that do little to address the core issues at hand.

In a time where poverty, unemployment, and infrastructure deficiencies plague the state, the APM believes that flashy branding exercises like the new logo only serve to further alienate the government from the concerns of the ordinary citizens. They call for a shift towards governance that prioritizes the well-being and prosperity of the people, rather than mere symbolic gestures.
