SON and Ogun State Government Collaborate on CNG Standards Implementation

Director-General of SON, Ifeanyi Okeke, engages in discussions with Governor Dapo Abiodun in Abeokuta to underscore the significance of this collaboration.

Okeke emphasizes SON’s commitment to maintaining stringent quality standards aligned with global best practices, highlighting the role of standardization in promoting consumer confidence, public health, and sustainable economic development.

Governor Abiodun expresses his administration’s full support for initiatives aimed at diversifying the energy mix and reducing reliance on traditional fuels. He underscores the importance of ensuring the safety and reliability of CNG infrastructure to mitigate risks and facilitate widespread adoption across the state.

Discussions also delve into the broader national agenda, particularly President Bola Tinubu’s visionary “Renewed Hope” agenda. This agenda prioritizes strategic projects like the CNG initiative, aiming to alleviate the economic burden of fuel subsidy removal while propelling Nigeria towards cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.
