Bi-Courtney Aviation Plans Regional Expansion

During a media parley commemorating the 17th anniversary of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd., the terminal’s operator, reiterated its dedication to launching regional operations. Acting Chief Operating Officer, Remi Jibodu, emphasized the significance of the proposed expansion, citing its potential to serve as a pivotal hub for domestic airlines while driving economic growth and job creation.

Jibodu elaborated on the approval for the regional operations, highlighting the ongoing efforts to maintain and prepare facilities for the venture. He emphasized the positive impact the expansion would have, anticipating increased revenue streams, enhanced connectivity, and broader economic benefits for all stakeholders involved.

Reflecting on the terminal’s achievements over the past 17 years, Jibodu commended the success of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which facilitated collaborations with private entities, enabling Bi-Courtney to deliver exceptional services to passengers and stakeholders alike. He recalled significant milestones, such as Chanchangi Airline Flight NCH 334, marking the inaugural use of the terminal in 2007.

Presently, the terminal accommodates ten domestic airlines, catering to over 10,000 guests daily, including passengers, stakeholders, and concessionaires. Jibodu highlighted infrastructural developments and the establishment of e-gate systems, contributing to streamlined passenger facilitation and a seamless travel experience. Additionally, he noted advancements in security measures and recent initiatives to address passenger grievances, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Looking ahead, Jibodu outlined Bi-Courtney’s plans, which include expanding terminal facilities, implementing advanced security technologies, and fostering sustainable initiatives to bolster the cargo ecosystem. He affirmed the company’s commitment to innovation and growth, emphasizing its readiness to commence regional operations from the terminal.

Meanwhile, Temitope Yusuf, Value Jet MMA2 Station Manager, and Monica Aguta, Head of Aviation Security at MMA2, lauded Bi-Courtney’s unwavering support, professionalism, and commitment to safety, underscoring the terminal’s milestone achievements and pivotal role in Nigeria’s aviation landscape.
