Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi issued a stark warning to Nigerians, urging them to help prevent the country’s further decline. Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday at the launch of the book *Peter Obi: Many Voices, One Perspective*—which chronicles his life and ideals—Obi described the upcoming presidential election as “an existential election” that Nigeria cannot afford to treat lightly. He cautioned that a wrong choice of leadership could lead to unpredictable consequences.

During the event, Obi appealed directly to voters, asking for their support in the final days of the campaign. “We urge all of you to support us, especially in these final days, to reach the end of this race. Nigeria has suffered enough. This is a great country that can be turned around. We can’t succeed without your intervention,” he said.

Earlier, on Monday, Obi pledged to reduce the cost of governance if elected. In a statement to the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, which he later posted on his official Twitter account, he announced plans to work with the Central Bank of Nigeria to lower “ways and means” within legal limits and to promote a more transparent, liberalized foreign‑exchange market.
