MKO Abiola’s Son Criticises Brother Kola as “Unfit to Rule Nigeria”

Abdul Mumuni, son of the late MKO Abiola, has declared his elder brother Kola “unfit to rule Nigeria.”

MKO Abiola, a prominent businessman and politician, was the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election but died in military detention in 1998 after the election was annulled by then-head of state Ibrahim Babangida.

In the Mic On Podcast, Mumuni alleged that Kola was dating Babangida’s daughter while their father was imprisoned and failed to uphold Abiola’s political legacy. Mumuni did not support Kola’s 2023 presidential bid under the Peoples Redemption Party, criticising his inability to manage their father’s empire and questioning his capacity to govern Nigeria.
